Favourite Floral Bakes
Nothing quite beats a batch of wonderfully baked cakes and biscuits, especially when flowers are involved. Get inspired and prettify your bakes with beautiful edible flowers for the perfect pick me up in these cold wintery months. Here’s a selection of some of our favourite recipes.
- Rose Petal Shortbread
The perfect addition to any afternoon tea, we think these Rose Petal Shortbread biscuits from ‘Pheobe’s Pure Food’ blog are lovely. They are just as simple as any other shortbread recipe but the addition of flowers really sets these apart. You can find the recipe for this over on her blog.
2. Rosey Rocky Road
Brownies are amazing enough on their own, but with the additional dried flowers and the fact they are raw and vegan (aka healthy) makes them even better. We love this recipe from Ascension Kitchen which makes us feel a whole lot better about indulging in a chocolatey treat. You can find a link to the recipe here.
3. Lemon Lavender Scone
The perfect treat for any rainy afternoon, there’s nothing quite like a scone to make you feel thoroughly British. We love this twist on a classic by ‘Baking Obsession’ blog made with the addition of lemon and lavender. You can find the recipe here.
4. Pansy Bundt Cake
For those of you that are all for making things pretty but with minimal effort involved, try buying a pre-made bundt cake and just drizzling with icing and dried pansies. Follow this link on how to prepare flowers ready to decorate and eat.
Hopefully this collection of our favourite floral bakes has got you inspired, and do send us photos of any cakes you make.
