October Flower School: Flowers for the Home
Posted in: School
Yesterday saw our busiest class with lots of excited students bustling into our school for our Flowers for the Home class. The morning consisted of cute topiary trees, perfect to build up skill with Oasis and decorate any area of your home.
After shaping their Oasis, our students got to work with the best part, the flowers!
We used some really gorgeous Upper Secret rose, Bombastic spray rose, Roma astrantia and reindeer, spanish and carpet moss to fill in the gaps between blooms. The colour combinations of this created a sweet, light arrangement which would sit perfectly at home in any room.
In the afternoon our students created a dark and moody modern candle arrangements for a dinner table or as a centrepiece on a coffee table. These are arranged in a low bowl filled with Oasis, our students first secured a tall candle into the Oasis and then worked around it with the blooms.
This modern candle arrangement used Ruby Red hydrangea, dahlia, Red Naomi roses, trailing amaranthus, gloriosa, rudbekia, nigella berries and black tea leaves.
